In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley

6:00amWednesday

It all began in 1972, when a half-hour program called "The Chapel Hour" was launched on on WXIA-TV 11 and WANX 46, Atlanta-area television stations. Impressed by the young pastor and looking for a practical Bible teaching program, the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) contacted Dr. Stanley in 1978 to request the program's inclusion on its new venture—a satellite distribution network to cable systems. The broadcast grew from a few thousand local viewers to a nationwide audience in a single week. Today, "In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley" can be heard around the world via radio and television broadcasts, podcasts, the handheld In Touch Ministries Messenger, In Touch Apps, and right here on the Web. Our programs are seen and heard around the world on more than 2,600 radio and television outlets in more than 50 languages. In addition to broadcasting, the ministry continues to produce CDs, DVDs, books, discipleship resources, and the award-winning In Touch magazine which is delivered to more than 1.5 million households every month.

Mid-Week Jazz and Swing

9:00amWednesday

The middle of the week is a great time for the best in Jazz and Swing. Hello folks Ted Leigh here, I have been with PBA-FM since January 1996 currently my shift is from 9 am until 12:30 on Wednesday mornings. The first 2 hours is lounge music structured round artists whose birthday falls in the current week (Sunday to Saturday) plus anniversaries etc. From 11 the rest of the program is Midweek Jazz and Swing – again the same format - of course with Jazz longer tracks, jam sessions for instance get an airing. When I first went on air we had turntables it was not as easy to key up a record as it is today loading a CD - until I got used to it I only played the first tracks. Over the years I have had many calls from listeners and also met several of them when we had open days at the station it is good to get feedback it shows we are doing something right – put it this way nobody has complained yet . Join me on Wednesday mornings and Start Out Each Day With A Song and don’t forget It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing.
